The goal
Gorillas sells groceries online and delivers them itself, on a fleet of bikes it owns and riders it works with, rather than handing the last mile to someone else. A customer browses, orders, and the shopping arrives in a short window. Part of the stock comes from local farmers, which keeps the money in the communities the riders are already crossing.
How it works
The catalogue runs from fresh fruit, dairy and vegan products to soft drinks, alongside selections from local community partners, so the shop reads differently from one city to the next. Orders go to the fleet for delivery. It operates in Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, the UK and the US, from a base in Berlin, so the platform carries a different catalogue, language and set of suppliers in each one.
